Microsoft - WindowsCE Portal Analysis

Challenge

The client requested that we provide strategy and research into addressing all facets of the WinCE Developer Portal from business logistics to content and features. The goal of this document is to address what features, services, and content CMD could create, purchase, or sub-contract to insure the success of the client's development of a community based portal.
 

Solution

The solution was to conduct industry research and service research for the client. We would then provide a document outlining our findings and recommendations.
 

Results

The client was grateful for the analysis and even though we did not receive the production work for the project we did receive additional work later in the year.
 

Robert's Thoughts

This project was focused on research and strategy only. It was the first project that involved strong planning and research prior to "just diving in" to production. The result was not all too surprising to me. Based on my research I recommended our client contact internal development and service groups within Microsoft's MSDN division to ask for consolidation and or support in building the portal he envisioned.
